Speaker Bio
Mallun Yen, Founder, Operator Collective, ChIPs Co-founder and Board Director Emeritus: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mallun/
Mallun Yen has devoted the past 20+ years to changing the status quo and shifting industry behaviors, as an enterprise executive, founder, operator, and category-creator. These experiences laid the groundwork for Operator Collective, a venture fund and community she founded in 2018 to make venture accessible to a group critical to a startup’s success but largely left out: top operators from diverse backgrounds who have built and scaled the world’s most successful tech companies. Its 200+ limited partners are 90% women, 40% people of color; 75% of whom had never invested in venture before.

She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Pure Storage (NYSE: PSTG) Board of Directors and the US Patent & Trademark Office’s Council for Inclusive Innovation (CI2), whose mission is to expand innovation by increasing opportunities and tapping into the strength of our nation’s diversity. Mallun was named to the Forbes 50 Over 50: Money in 2022 and is the first Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit guest co-chair to serve two consecutive terms.

Prior to founding Operator Collective, Mallun was at the forefront of other category-creating companies also rooted in community, including venture-backed RPX ($0-$100M and IPO in 3 years), SaaStr (world’s largest b2b software community), ChIPsNetwork.org (6,800 members and 31 chapters around the world). Mallun was also VP of Worldwide Intellectual Property at Cisco Systems.
