SESSION SUMMARIES
Session 1: UPC Judges’ Panel
We now have over two years of UPC cases and experience. From preliminary injunctions, to claim interpretation, SEP/FRAND and now long-arm jurisdiction, this panel of UPC judges and practitioners will analyze the big cases, identify key trends and debate best practices in the new court. Led by Signe Lundorf (Bech-Bruun), the panel, which also includes Judge Florence Butin and Judge Kai Harmand, will also discuss important strategic issues on managing UPC and parallel national litigation and the impact that the BSH v Electrolux will have on European litigation.
Session 2: Navigating Risk and Protecting Security
In a volatile global landscape, in-house counsel, business leaders and outside counsel are under increasing pressure to anticipate risk, ensure compliance, and safeguard corporate integrity and consumer security - all while responding to rapidly evolving regulatory frameworks, cross-border trade complexities, and heightened litigation threats. This panel led by Johanne Eeg Bækbøl Pedersen (Bech-Bruun brings together Meg Cesare-Eastman (Airbnb), and Kim Schmitt (Intel) to explore how lawyers and business leaders can proactively manage risk, adapt to shifting regulatory and geopolitical landscapes and strengthen consumer security.
Session 3: Female Founders
owned business generated $2.7 trillion in revenue each year and in the UK, over $100 billion in gross-added value is added to the UK economy. With panelists including Ella Harris (Uvisa Health), this dynamic panel will explore the unique journeys of women entrepreneurs—from the spark of an idea to scaling successful ventures—while navigating challenges from financing to strategic partnerships.
Session 4: From Disparity to Discovery in Women’s Health – challenges and opportunities
Despite recent advancements in gender representation within clinical research, women's health issues remain significantly under-researched. According to a report by the World Economic Forum and McKinsey from January 2024, less than 2% of global research funds are allocated to non-cancer-related women's diseases. This disparity not only adversely affects women worldwide but also impacts societies and market structures. This session will convene leaders and advocates committed to catalyzing transformative changes in healthcare research, development, and policy. Led by Louise Bertelsen Forman (Bech-Bruun), with panelists from both private industry and public authorities, this session will address the current landscape and explore opportunities. Panelists include Eda Stark (Olympus) Sanne Brun Jensen (BII), Anette Steenberg (Medicon Valley Alliance).
