Nicole leads the team responsible for managing Uber’s US litigation docket, including federal and state court litigation, arbitrations, subpoenas, small claims matters and demand letters. For most of 2018 and 2019 she was also Uber’s Acting Associate General Counsel for Litigation, Competition & eDiscovery, leading a team of 25 attorneys, paralegals and other professionals. Throughout 2017, Nicole was the lead in-house counsel running the Company’s defense of the Waymo v. Uber trade secret litigation, which settled in February 2018 after four days of trial.
Before joining Uber in September 2016, Nicole was Director, Litigation and Labor for Atmel Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of microcontrollers, touch sensors and application-specific products. At Atmel, Nicole supported the Human Resources function worldwide, in addition to managing the Company’s litigation. Before going in house, Nicole worked at a number of law firms in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Nicole obtained her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her J.D. from Berkeley Law.
Nicole enjoys watching Stanford sports and spending time with her family – her wife Kate and their three kids, ages 14, 9, and 7 – especially skiing and snowboarding in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains and following the kids’ various sports endeavors.
