Nicoletta S. Giordani is a 2019 White House Leadership Fellow and she is currently detailed to the Office of Management and Budget, National Security Division from the Department of Defense (DOD). In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the formulation and execution of budget and programs of the Army Operation & Maintenance, Army Readiness, Counter-ISIS, CFIUS and Background Investigation & Security Clearance portfolios. Previously, Ms. Giordani was the Assistant Director for Business Analysis and Mitigation Strategy at Defense Security Service (DSS), the agency within DOD that oversees the protection of U.S. critical technology and information under the National Industrial Security Program for DOD and 32 other departments and agencies across the Federal Government. In this role, she informed and advised senior DSS and DOD leadership on opportunities and challenges to the industrial base from foreign direct investment, global market trends, and technology transfers. This includes being the lead on Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI), where she was responsible for analyzing, mitigating, and overseeing investment risk in the defense industrial base. Before joining the U.S. Government, Ms. Giordani held various senior positions in the private sector at multinational and leading-edge organizations including Accenture, Credit Suisse, and UBS.
