Susan Davies is a litigation partner in the Washington, D.C. office where she focuses in the areas of government and internal investigations, regulatory, legislative, intellectual property and appellate litigation. She represents multiple Fortune 100 companies as they navigate the issues arising from these inquiries.

Susan is a former Deputy White House Counsel to President Obama. In this role, she was responsible for judicial selection, and she prepared the nominees for their informal meetings with Senators as well as their formal confirmation hearings. In addition to vetting potential judicial nominees and making recommendations to President Obama, she managed the Supreme Court confirmation processes of Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

Prior to her work in the White House, she served as both General Counsel and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Susan has also held several positions in the Department of Justice, including the Antitrust Division, the Office of the Solicitor General and the Office of Policy Development. Susan also served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and then-Judge Stephen Breyer on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and as a Special Counsel to President Bill Clinton.
