Elena Grimme serves as Microsoft’s Associate General Counsel and General Manager of Corporate, External & Legal Affairs for the Western Europe region. She is based in Brussels, Belgium and oversees the company’s legal and corporate affairs team across the region, providing support for commercial transactions, government relations and regulatory counsel on public policy issues such as cybersecurity, competition, privacy, and international trade. 
  
Ms Grimme joined Microsoft in 2007 and in the last 15 years Elena has held a variety of senior roles at Microsoft in Europe and at the U.S. headquarters in Redmond, WA. Prior to joining Microsoft, Elena worked both in-house and in private practice in Italy and the U.S., practicing primarily in the field of intellectual property law. 
  
Ms Grimme is originally from Italy but has spent most of her life outside of her native country. Elena holds an LL.B. degree (Hons) in English and European Law from Queen Mary University of London, and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Antitrust Law from the University of New Hampshire, Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property.
