Susan Oki Mollway, a senior district judge on the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii, was the first Asian woman to be appointed as a lifetime federal judge. She previously served as the chief judge for that court. Before becoming a judge in 1998, she was a civil litigator at a private law firm in Honolulu. She has a BA and an MA from the University of Hawaii, a JD from Harvard Law School, and an LLM from Duke University School of Law.
